  Dated : 12.11.2010

Employees and their families enjoyed a catered breakfast and gifts during Christmas party at Sycamore VillageCaterers from Roy-El of Belville, prepare omelets to order during Christmas party at Sycamore VillageSwansea, IL - Sycamore Village held it's annual Employee Christmas Breakfast last week.  "The staff really looks forward to the Christmas Breakfast every year"  said Administrator Kendra Garnto, "It's one of the few times a year that everyone gets to be together."  The meal was catered by Roy-El of Belville and consisted of a buffet and an omelet bar.  Several of the staff commented on the "delicious" options that were available and really liked being able to order their own omelets.  Afterward was a unique twist on an old favorite; "White Elephant".  For those of you not familiar with this holiday game, it usually consists of guest drawing numbers and selecting a random, wrapped gift.  Each new person has the option of taking a new gift or "stealing" an opened gift from someone else.  By the end of the game, everyone has a gift.  In this case, employees had to roll doubles on a pair of dice to win the chance to grab a gift.  The process provided a lot of laughs and everyone was happy in the end.  There were two lucky employees who ended up with cash prizes!
"It is so nice to get the opportunity to do this for the entire staff." said Natalie MacFarland, RN and Dementia Care Director, "They do a wonderful job in caring for our residents and we want to show them that we appreciate it.  We are all a family here and really take care of each other."
