Resident Made Greeting Cards Available at Sycamore Vill
  Dated : 03.01.2011

Sycamore Village Assisted Living-Swansea, IL-Residents with Alzheimer's make greeting cards to sell-proceeds go to Alzheimer's research.
Sycamore Village has replaced its holiday greeting cards with all-purpose greeting cards featuring beautiful art once again created by our very own residents.  Assorted 12-packs of cards are for sale for $6 each in our front lobby with all proceeds benefiting Alzheimer’s Research.

As part of our mission to help raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, our marketing team is spreading gifts of individually packaged cards to our local healthcare neighbors to show that although there is no cure for Alzheimer’s, the right kind of care and support can help enhance the quality of life for people living with memory loss.  Our residents have enjoyed participating in our creative arts therapy program and continue to create beautiful art to support a great cause.  The art featured on the cards, along with several other pieces, will be up for auction at our Second Annual Silent Art Auction scheduled to take place this fall.

Sycamore has also started giving framed artwork created by our residents with personalized plaques to our local healthcare providers to display in their lobbies.  The artwork is inspirational and pieces now hang in the lobbies of The Alzheimer’s Association, and in Dr. Stephen Burger’s Neurology office in Belleville, for all to enjoy.

Please save the date for our Art Auction on the evening of November 3rd, 2011 at Sycamore Village. Come and enjoy our special display of art and to help support a great cause.
