Sycamore Village recently hosted a seminar for health care professionals, including caregivers. The topic was “Intimacy and Sexuality: Older Adults with Dementia”. The seminar was presented by Zoe Dearing from the Alzheimer’s Association.
Dearing discussed the myths and truths about intimacy and sexuality needs of people with dementia. She also provided important information and tips to help health care workers better assist individuals in a way that allows them dignity while addressing sensitive concerns.
