Sycamore Village Assisted Living - Swansea, IL - Brain Health Seminar for NARFESycamore Village Assisted Living – Swansea, Illinois

Natalie McFarland, RN and Dementia Care Educator at Sycamore Village, recently presented her seminar, “Brain Healthy Lifestyle Tips”, to 30 plus members of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). The group is led by local chapter president, Deane Richter, and has 550 members.

Those who attended the free seminar, found the material to be informative and helpful and felt that the tips could easily be integrated into their lives. Richter thanked McFarland, saying “We are all very excited about helping ourselves to stay ‘brain healthy’. You gave us so many possibilities to practice and we can start TODAY!” He went on to say how the members commented that they found McFarland’s presentation motivating and easy to follow.

Sycamore Village Assisted Living is a community resource and expert for Alzheimer’s care. We strongly believe that taking preventative measures, knowing the correct and current information and understanding the disease itself, is critical in the fight against Alzheimer’s as well as caring for those who have the disease. Look for McFarland on the Norm Greenburg show during October.  She will be discussing the importance of
mental activity/brain fitness.  The episode will air Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6:30p.m. on local Charter cable channel 8.
