Prior to joining the Sycamore Village team, Ted was the Family Council Chairman. The Family Council entrusted him in meeting with families and bringing any major concerns to the management team for discussion and resolution. He has worked in the healthcare industry for the past 5 years as a Long Term Care State Ombudsman and the Volunteer Coordinator for a major hospice company.
“My mother has resided here for 3 years and as a Family member, I know the difficult challenges and pain that I suffered. With my experience in dealing with these issues, I can relate to each and every family and know that their decision is hard, but will work out in the end. I believe in Sycamore Village and know that it is a safe place, otheriwse, my mother wouldn’t be here.”
Ted spends most of his free time taking his mother out,especially every Sunday. She loves eating at Red Lobster and Applebees and Shopping at Walmart.

Ted Schirmer joined Sycamore as the Family Liaison in July of 2010. He mediates any concerns that family’s may have, as well as insuring the smooth transition of new residents. Constant contact with the resident’s family is important to give them peace of mind, knowing that their loved one is safe and in good hands. Experience Sycamore
